Livecastr - Live Video from your Mobile
January 25, 2008 by Jared Madden
Livecastr has launched a platform that allow people to broadcast video ‘live’ from their mobile phone. The video can be viewed either from a friends mobile, the Livecastr site or from the Livecastr player which can be embedded into the ‘broadcasters’ personal web page or social network platform.
Livecastr is currently in private beta release which means that they are seeking people to test their platform for them. Look to Livecastr in the future becoming a important media channel for businesses wanting to participate in the newmedia conversation.
Is this technology important?
Emersive have been asked many times to look into the crystal ball and predict the next big (newmedia / social meida) things for 2008. Our answer has always been ‘mobile’ and ‘video’. Livecastr is a technology that assists in both arenas and opens up new opportunities for businesses to connect to their consumer community.
Look forward six months when this technology is public and think of the possibilities for generating conversation and creating relationship equity through mobile video.
News - Low cost video delivery for product launches (as an example).
Conversation - Low cost video podcasting from anywhere.
Immediacy - Speaking to important topics from any location at a relevant time.
Connection - The ability foster community through your personal image.
Look to live video as as a way to generate conversation around your products and services in the near future.
